A number of news organizations – broadcast, online and print newspapers and magazines, and a university program that educates young journalists – have formed the New Hampshire News Collaborative to enhance the reach, depth, and impact of reporting on complex social problems in New Hampshire.
With a grant from Solutions Journalism Network for coordinated solutions-focused reporting, the Collaborative is seeking to hire a dynamic individual with experience in journalism to work approximately 20 hours a week as overall editor and manager the Collaborative.
Initial seven-month contract, with potential for renewal, at a salary to be agreed. The manager will report to the executive board, which is comprised of one representative from each participating news organization.
Responsibilities will include:
* Plan and coordinate with the executive board how to best select, produce, time, promote and share the work of participating media on an identified topic, and to vet the stories for quality.
* Organize and facilitate meetings of the executive board, work with partners to plan and implement engagement activities, and build a strong foundation for the continuation and expansion of the Collaborative.
Additional details available upon request.
