The New Hampshire Press Association is happy to announce judging of the 2018 Distinguished Journalism Awards is complete. Below is the list of finalists in each of the 37 categories and associated membership classes.
With a couple of exceptions – Dennis Joos Memorial Award and Lifetime Achievement – awards for third, second and first place can be given in each category/class at the discretion of the judges. In those category/classes where there were fewer than three entries, judges were not obligated to give a first place award.
There are no second and third place designations for the Dennis Joos Memorial Award and Lifetime Achievement awards.
The winners will be announced at the Press Association’s Awards Banquet to be held the evening of May, 29, 2019 at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics on the campus of St. Anselm’s College in Manchester.
A cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner set for 6:15 p.m. The awards presentations begin at 7 p.m. hosted by former Foster’s Daily Democrat Executive Editor Rod Roherty. The event is open to the public and all members of media as well as their guests, in addition to the night’s honorees.
The prices are $40 for an individual ticket open seating, a half table (four tickets) with reserved seating for $160 and a full table (eight tickets) for $300.
Reservations and payments are being accepted online at New Hampshire Press Association 2018 Distinguished Journalism Banquet. Deadline to register is May 27 and refunds will be granted up to seven days before the event.
Participation was strong with nearly 500 entries from all of our members. We received several accolades from judges regarding the quality of our submissions and use of the online platform went smoothly.
We hope as many of you as possible can attend the banquet for night of camaraderie and celebration.
